Tarek Abu-Esber has been analysing and writing about the Mobile Industry since the early 2000’s when he set-up a blog about the emerging Smartphone market. Since then he has edited a successful blog on Mobile Technology, been Mobile & Wireless Editor for a leading Technology website and has contributed to various mobile-related blogs. He has been working for Mobile Web enablers Volantis Systems since 2005, first as a Mobile Device Engineer and now as their Mobile Web Evangelist. His experience over the years have positioned him as an Industry expert in the areas of Mobile Device Technology and the Mobile Web.

Imran Ali is part entrepreneur, technology activist, graphic designer, software developer, and self-described dreamer. He is one of the founding partners of Carbon Imagineering, the emerging technologies think tank and product hothouse behind Fingertip, mee:view, Believr and Personomii, was the deputy rirector of technology research at Orange UK and part of the team that established Freeserve’s R&D unit and Wanadoo’s Research & Innovation division, is one of the founders of Rich Gibson’s Internet of Values initiative, is a programme consultant and blogger for O’Reilly’s Emerging Telephony brand, and was a writer and commentator for TechCrunch UK.

Paul Ruppert: With successes in start-rapid growth enterprises and Fortune 50 companies, he has driven up to US$75 million in annual revenue through international expansion, M&A, revenue imperative sales growth and product development in the mobile industry. From 2001 to 2006 he was the VP of international sales, and a key member of the management team of Mobile 365–the globe’s leading provider of mobile messaging interoperability–where he grew a start up to a $110 million enterprise by securing 300+ mobile network operator customers in 135 countries. Ruppert entered the mobile industry in 1996 when he helped launch PacBell Wireless. He is the co-author of US & EU patents for international SMS cross protocol exchange, which enables SMS text messages to be fully interoperable across different wireless protocols around the world. Ewan Spence is a prominent technology writer, blogger and podcaster. As part of the team behind All About Symbian, he has been at the cutting consumer edge of the smartphone industry since the summer of 2000. His first book, “Rapid Mobile Enterprise Development” was published by John Wiley and Sons in 2005, and his work has been used by Palmtop magazine, PDA Essentials, IT Pro, and VNU’s Computing. He is also a regular contributor to BBC Radio 5’s “Pods and Blogs” show.

Nancy Broden is a mobile user experience specialist overseeing the interaction design practice at Punchcut, a leading mobile user interface design and development company. Over the past 10 years she has led teams in the strategy and design of next-generation mobile, web and software solutions for tier one wireless operators, major OEMs and top brands including Disney, Qualcomm, Microsoft and Sun. Nancy is focused on digital experiences that enable people to create, maintain and grow relationships with others. Nancy and her team perform ongoing research into social networking behaviors in the mobile context. These studies provide insights into the challenges overcome by successful social networkers and highlight product and design opportunities that address their needs.

Debi (Mobile) Jones is a longtime industry observer, researcher and commentator on the tech and mobile industry. Her particular areas of interest: new technologies and gagdets; drm, super-distribution or P2P business models; user created content; human factors/mmi, mobile devices; applications and multimedia; applied situational politics; product management; and customers/users. Helen Keegan is a marketing and communications professional and the founder of BeepMarketing Ltd. She started her career spending over 10 years in retail management and marketing before taking up various consultancy positions working with blue-chip clients including Hewlett Packard, FirstGroup, StageCoach and Alcatel. Prior to founding BeepMarketing, Helen was in charge of customer experience at pioneering wireless start-up ZagMe. While there, Helen was responsible for marketing and communication and managing day to day contact with 85,000 consumers via SMS, phone and email. This included initiating more than 1500 mobile marketing campaigns for her leading retail clients, such as the Arcadia Group, Esprit and Nike. She also runs the mobile marketing training course for the IDM (The Institute of Direct Marketing) and various mobile marketing courses in conjunction with 160 Characters, the messaging industry association.

Russell Shaw is a Portland, Ore.-based blogger, author and journalist. Author of seven books, he writes the popular IP Telephony, VoIP and Convergence blog for ZDNet, and the BlackBerry Beat Blog for ZDNet as well. Russ also writes the technology meets government RSS (Regulations, Statutes and Standards) blog for technology news site TMCNet.com, and does enterprise computing writing analysis for AllBusiness.com. You may also recognize Russell from the BBHub BlackBerry blog he wrote and ran for AOL for two years, up until the end of this January, as well as his work for the Huffington Post and Metroblogs.

Oliver Starr is a member of Guidewire and its senior mobile analyst. He is a serial enterpreneur with with experience in technology,wireless and fiber optic telecommunications, mass distribution, e-commerce, biotechnology and alternative medicine, and was editor of Mobile Crunch. A former professional road and world cup mountain bike racer and lifetime advocate of extreme sports, Oliver Starr has been a technology addict since using his first computer in 1976. In addition to his sports and entrepreneurial ventures, Oliver has provided consulting services to a wide range of companies including Danone, TwinLab, Luxul, NuBanc, I2Net, TDK, Chrysos Financial, and others.

Daniel Taylor is managing director for the Mobile Enterprise Alliance, Inc. (MEA), where he is an advocate for enterprise mobility standards, processes and best practices. In 2006, Dan received an Award of Merit recipient from the Society for New Communications Research. He has over fifteen years of high technology experience and is well known as a subject matter expert on many of the aspects of mobility, including wireless networking, security, telecommunications and management. Prior to the MEA, Dan held a number of product marketing and development positions in the communications industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University and has completed doctoral work in Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.

Emily Turrettini, based in Geneva, Switzerland, has been tracking cell phone news since 2001, first on Netsurf.ch, then on a network of 3 blogs under the textually.org banner, focusing on the social impacts around the world of this new and evolving technology. She also a contributing blogger on SmartMobs.
