When Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) flips the switch today and makes the new 3.0 software update available to iPhone and iPod Touch owners, developers won’t skip a beat in updating their applications to take advantage of such new features as cut and paste, alerts and new billing options. An Apple spokesperson declined to say when the update will arrive, but that users will need to sync with iTunes in order load it on their devices.
