I Used To Twitter, But The Thrill Is Gone For Me
by Russell Shaw
There’s plenty of conversation in the blogosphere this week about how relevant or not Twitter is.
Scott Karp of Publishing 2.0 lets everyone within reading distance know that, in effect, he’s bored with Twitter and doesn’ use it anymore.
Others aren’t going to give up on Twitter. Some, such as David Ammano, call it a “conversation ecosystem.” In fact, I’ve screencapped his Twitter map in which he illustrates the potential dimensions of creative Twitter usage.
My position is far more sympathetic to Scott’s than David’s. Sure, you can mash Twitter up all you want.
At its silly heart though, Twitter still is a “hey here I am, here’s what I am doing,” one way conversation.
Until you reply, that is, and tell me what you are doing.
But see, the thing is, I am too busy “doing” to let you know what I am doing.
Aren’t you?
