New Mobile Messaging-Oriented Social Network Buddyping gathers steam
by Russell Shaw

Ewan from U.K.-based SMS Text News, is quite enthusiastic about a new social network called Buddyping.
Best way to get Buddyping is to do an over the air download over your cell.
Buddyping’s CEO, Justin Davies, tells Ewan they are getting 3,000 signups a day.
I have yet to try the service, but in looking at the GUI, I notice several features that touch on the mobile messaging space:
Send Free Texts- This is a self-explanatory feature. You can send texts from the Buddyping application running on your cell;
Friend Notification- You ping a number and Buddyping lets you know where your Buddyping-member friends are at the moment;
There’s a Publish Your Location feature, as well as the ability to tag your photos with your location and then publish that info to Flickr.
